The National Environmental Policy in Peru and respect for the customary rights of indigenous peoples against forest degradation
Abstract
Forest degradation of the Amazon is a latent and progressive problem that alters the ecosystems of the living beings that inhabit it, where the most affected are the indigenous peoples who, due to ancestral customs that are transmitted from generation to generation, use the resources of nature. as a source of livelihood. Likewise, with the objective of reducing this problem, the State has formulated the National Environmental Policy with goals that must be met by 2030. Therefore, this research article aims to show if the National Environmental Policy, at the time of issuing guidelines for the protection of forests, ensures the customary rights of indigenous peoples.
